Dosage & Application Guide (Swimming Pools)
- Test Your Water: Before adding any chemicals, use a reliable test kit to measure your pool's current free chlorine (FC) and pH levels. The ideal pH range is 7.2 to 7.6.
- Calculate Dosage: Use the guideline: 2-3 ounces (60-85 grams) of HI-CHLON 70% per 10,000 gallons of water will raise free chlorine by approximately 1 ppm. Calculate the amount needed based on your pool size and test results.
- Pre-dissolve (Recommended): Fill a clean, dry bucket with several gallons of pool water. Slowly add the calculated amount of HI-CHLON granules to the water, stirring gently. Never add water to the chemical; always add the chemical to water.
- Apply to Pool: With the pool pump running to circulate the water, slowly pour the dissolved solution around the edges of the pool.
- Wait and Retest: Allow the pump to run for at least 4-6 hours. After this period, retest the water to ensure the free chlorine level is in the ideal range of 1-3 ppm.
